Security incident monitoring and notification

For the security devices in your infrastructure we manage them at two levels. The first level is to treat them as network devices and to ensure that they are up and working properly within the network. The second is to use the security event information generated by these devices in order to identify security incidents and to be able to respond to those incidents.

Our tools provide real time detection and automated analysis of security threats across your security infrastructure. We collect, filter, correlate and then report on the security events and incidents that occur. When we detect a security incident we generate a security ticket which is responded to by the security experts in our operations team.

Examples of security incidents include the following:

• Vulnerability scanning
• Security policy violations
• Known application exploits
• Denial of service attacks
• Virus, worm, and trojan attacks

Security incident reporting:

NUVO's management systems work with the managed device native security monitoring and event logging services to provide security event summary and forensic reports. All of this information is available to you via the MAXadvantage web portal.

Security posture management:

To complete our support of your security infrastructure we perform regular security threat and posture reviews to ensure that managed devices are properly updated and tuned to defend against the latest security threats. Using guidelines from CERT, SANS, and IETF/RFC's, we ensure that threat signatures are tuned as needed to minimize the generation of false positive events.

And on a regular basis, we review with you the operational health of your security infrastructure. We discuss with you what we have seen, we check that software versions, security policy, signature files, and signature tuning are current and we work with you to plan out any changes that are required to maintain the health of your infrastructure.
